What Bo Knows...

To Bradley and any other guy that wants to know "What a Girl Wants" - here are my thoughts .

In MY opinion the standard bearer for guys, (2nd to Jesus, of course), is Boaz - affectionately known as "Bo". I did not take an official poll from the girls that heard these principles taught recently, but based on the responses from them as well as from the guys - i'm thinking this is a pretty good representation of what we truly want.

I found all of these in one book - Ruth - read it.

1. FAVORITISM - a girl needs to know that among all the other girls around your life, in your life and "formerly" in your life...SHE is your favorite! Saving her a seat by you, pausing whatever you are doing in order to hear her, or acknowledge her presence shows this. Letting her know that there are many things you love to do: hunt, sports, etc, but they all fall a distant 2nd when she really needs you to be there. (hint: you will find, guys, that she will not ask you to give up any of these, if she knows that you would if she needed you to)

2. PROVISION - making sure she has what she needs. Sometimes this is done publically and she is aware & grateful for your provision...but there is also a place for the private provision - the ones she doesn't know came from you, but you saw a need and it was just your joy to see that her need was met, more than it being credited to you. (shout out to "Berr" here, for his idea of washing her car without her knowing it!)

3. PROTECTION - the obvious physical protection..."I have instructed the men that work for me not to touch you or harm you in any way..." But emotional and spiritual as well - You will fight for her honor, basically. Not allowing anyone - friend or family, to say anything that might damage or hurt her heart or self-esteem - because, after all, she is your favorite. (hint: doing this when she is not around is wonderful, but defending her in her presence....well, it's "hero" kinda stuff ) (Jason H. knows this, too)

* are ya'll hanging in there with me? *

4. AFFIRMATION - speaking words to her (not just thinking it or believing it) that say: I've seen this about you...I have observed this in your character... and it is good! Physical affirmations are good, but temporary - she must believe that if all of her "hotness" were to fade away - you would still think she is valuable, worthy, precious and wanted.

& lastly - the one on which all the previous 4 hinge - without it you can delete the others...

5. Integrity - she wants a man that will step up and do the lawful, righteous and honorable thing - always - not just for appearances at church or public display but in your home, apt., dorm - where she alone knows you could have gotten away with the lesser. THIS, young man, is what secures their respect - she will follow you anywhere. It also insures your name will go right up there at the top of the list with BO. And in my book - well - that is a great place to be.

SO......to the Chets, Todds, Jasons, Bradleys, Austins, CRs, JP's, CM's, DS's & Berr's of this world - here it is. We love you, because you're in the discussion and willing to step up to the table and listen, but better yet, to answer.

Girls...i'm still working on your list. :)
