God Feels A Little Closer Here -

COLORADO - oh yes! That is where I have been this last week - yep, the beautiful snowy mountains with my husband, both girls, and a group of wonderful college students. Other than an ocean front condo with a balcony, there is NO better place to get away from it all and just commune with my Redeemer....well...my back porch is pretty good, too. Anyway - I don't have a laptop or I would have written - LIVE! - from Keystone. What I would have given to have had all of you there! Here is a pic
of Ricky and Lisa (my 17 yr. old). Ricky loved skiing in his Carharts, Camo Jacket and red/white & blue knit cap his mom knitted for him in 1974. All he needed was a duck call & a shotgun and he was equipped for whatever crossed his path! ha He was the coolest man on the slopes! It was Tech's Winter break so Katie was out, but we took Lisa out of school for a few days so she could enjoy a little vacation, too.
Here is Katie and Jay. You can see that great blue sky in the background - yes, it was like that every day, except the day it SNOWED! woo hoo! Some skied, some did not, but we all
had so m
uch fun.

Can't wait to go back! We do have a SPECIAL AWARD for the couple with the best "Snow Story" - Dustin had to be taken to the ER for oxygen and then Erin had to be brought down the mountain by ski patrol and we found she had a torn Cartilage, ACL, MCL, NFL and HBO! So you all win HANDS DOWN! But thanks for being such great troopers about it and still laughing at the end of the trip! :)
This next info. would be in the FYI category -If ANY of you girls are close to these locations I would soooooooo love to see you! This is my speaking schedule for the next couple of months.

Mrs. Kathy---COME TO COLLEGE STATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our young married Sunday school class has a girls bible study on Thursday night's and I would love nothing more than to tell them YOU are coming!!!! Or I could plan a special girls weekend and you could give us pointers on how to stay married for many years to come! HA! :)
As soon as you come anywhere close to Houston, I will be there will bells on! :)
Maybe you could just start a "Tech Tour" and come through all of our current places of residence! Anywhere close to Oklahoma City and I'd be there!!
Mrs. Kathy...I didn't see Houston, TX on that list!!! :(
That's because she is coming to College Station and all you Houston people can come here! :)
Hey Carrie - I like the idea of a "Tech Tour"! Sounds soooo fun! We need to start praying about that, 'cause I sure would love it. You know Houston is where Ricky and I first lived after we got married - so it would be a good sentimental stop, as well! Love ya'll
Let's plan something for this summer...then all the teachers could spend quality time and not have to worry about the end of the year stuff! :) Jen Hammond is building a big house--we could crash at her place! June or July--any dates work better for you???
I'll have to talk to Stacy Colvin about you coming to the Tyler area. I may see what I can do- of course I will have to check with my husband.
Oh, what's your email- Mrs.Kathy? I have a question for you.
I'll all up for the Tyler area. Jason's parents live not too far from there and we can all crash there. Fun times!!

Kathy: Got your post on my blog. I LOVE Andy McCullin and am so glad to hear that he's plugged in to ministry somewhere. Andy, if you are reading this . . . you'd better pop on over to my blog and say hello old friend.
I like the idea of touring through Oklahoma. It'll give you a chance to dry out from all that good ole Louisiana humidity.
Why can't you come to Calgary! I think Canada desperately needs a "Mrs. Kathy"!
JADA!! We were right there!!! at KEYSTONE - Summit County. I would have LOVED to see your church. Right now we are hoping to come back next year. Maybe we could plan something to do with you all!
It's beautiful up there!
Mrs. Kathy - I've got the Swartz date marked on my calendar!! Unless a dire emergency comes up I'll be there! I can't wait to see you again, as well as hear you speak!
