Milestones
Well -
Here are two milestones I enountered this week.
They represent 2 different glorious ocassions in my life.
1. Katie turned 21 !
Yes, she r
eally did. What fun, glorious adventure it has been. 21 years ago we brought her home from the hospital on Christmas day...in a stocking! I am so thankful she stayed here to go to college, because it has enabled her dad and I to see her being used by God and growing in her desire to please Him and fulfill the purpose He has for her life. A new "adult" age deserved a
n "adult" gift - real pearls - bracelet and earrings. Katie - you are our
'pearl of great price', and I love you very much.
AND
2. Jess
ica and Stacy -
Visiting this week with these 2 beautiful young ladies who I first met when they were 18 - and now they are 30. In these 12 years I see a more mature faith. One that has a passion for obeying Christ more now than they did 12 years ago. For me, it is an unspeakable joy that they still want to include me in their lives and trust me enough to tell me some of their dreams and visions for the future. And to let me know they are still holding out for their "A-List".
Milestones...for this Mom, and friend are...well...just grace.

oh dear, not the hair in the face pic! i look most unfortunate. maybe i should show my non a-teamer this pic b/c surely it will end his attraction to me! had a great time with you...and katie is beautiful!
This picture will NOT do that. I'll pass the word on to Katie. She remembers so much about those days...and loves seeing people from back "in the day". Love you!

oh dear...please let the blogging public know that this pic was taken at about ten p.m. after jessica had been driving all around louisiana and mississippi. little make-up and a ponytail...it'll be another thirty years before i find an a-teamer.
i can't believe katie sue is twenty-one. it seems like just yesterday she was in fifth grade and in my cabin at g.a. camp. how fun for her!
Jess! You know you are beautiful to me! My prediction...A-teamer within 3 years. Watch and see
