I'm Guilty...

I watch The Bachelor. And I have not missed one since it's inception.

Now, I have not seen every episode of every installment, but I would catch up on the ABC website (which is even more repulsive to admit) when I would miss. I even read the "message boards". I have come ever so close to joining the message board community, but I fear that I will go from coolly(sp?) discussing the antics of the players to sounding like a televangelist when the moral issues inevitably come up. ESPECIALLY if there is a virgin on the show - and as we learned Monday night, there is a professing one. She will surely be persecuted for her choice to wait or she'll be the one that gets drunk or has an emotional breakdown and the ambulance comes to get her. And once again the virgin will be psycho.

When will girls learn - the Godly shouldn't play on the enemies playground!? It's called "casting your pearls before swine..."
Let's just pray she kept her "pearls" in the jewelry box....I'm just saying....

There is really no excuse for a middle-aged, happily married, God-fearing, Bible teaching-of-everything-not-represented-in-this-show, woman to be even slightly tolerant of such media propaganda. BUT - I love to watch it.

Maybe it's the eternal romantic that I am...I love to see a nice guy get a nice girl. So my "fairy tale" imagination is satisfied.

I will give an update - with all the shame that I should have - next week...after Episode 2.

don't i know what you mean - i have to watch it in my bedroom and if my HHBL comes in (he doesn't approve) i have to quickly switch channels - or look like i'm praying or balancing the checkbook - but he always knows the truth, he's on to my wicked ways!!

I am with you, Mrs. Kathy!! I was just telling a friend all the horrible and ungodly things about the show...but had to hurry home from school to make sure I saw it! OH DEAR!

LOL! Look like your praying!?! That is too great. Please interpret HHBL - I am just not cool enough to know all the lingo!

Carrie - I do the same. Sit there and try to teach my girls why all of this process is so wrong, but yell at everyone to be quiet so I can hear it! "Oh Dear" indeed.

I left a comment about this on Mrs. E's site. However, her comment here made me near about snort coffee out of my nose...I'm sure the guys would have loved that!

So you are watching it as I type...you are an hour ahead....I have 30 min before it comes on. I will be reading stories to a little boy the first half, though.

Hope you are enjoying.

I am the eternal romantic too, but also, I just like to watch this to know that I did find the last good man on the Earth, or so I personally, think.

ahh, so glad to have you back mrs.kathy! and how fun a topic. and might i add that should you miss an episode and not want to just read the message boards, you can in fact watch each episode in full on abc.com. so loving that about abc as i still have not crossed over to tivo or dvr.

i don't think the prince is all that interesting. at all. how can you be a prince of a country and not even speak the language? it is fun, however, to see familiar places from my rome trip. and i have in fact been to the gardens bearing his family name that were seen on tonight's show. i mean i'm no princess (or houston socialite...what the flip is that???) but i think i could hold my own in that group. ooh, and eat lots of gelato in the process!
