Sentimental Sightings

How great is this?!

Last week I was in Shreveport eating with Mom at the Real Pickle - A young couple walks up & says "Mrs. Kathy?" ... it's CLAY and KELLY MARBRY !! They are expecting their 1st child in June. Both still cute as they can be. :)

This week - was in Shreveport visiting Mom again. We were shopping in Steinmart...digging in a sale box...and I hear..."Mrs. Kathy?". Yep - CHRISTY WIMBERLY JOHNSON (married to JEFF) was looking through the same box! I loved getting to catch up on their life-news.

**Special note - my YOUNGEST gets her Senior ring today in a special ceremony at her school. The "official" transition in classification ...can you believe?? I am so very proud of her. One of my favorite stories to tell:

She was in K'garten/1st grade. I picked her up from school and we started our usual replay of the day. Then she slid forward from her back seat and placed her arms on the back of my front seat - signalling a desire for undivided attention. She tells me that some of her friends were talking at recess about how they had each "asked Jesus into their hearts". Well she had thought about it and decided that "since so many had already asked Jesus in to their heart, she was going to ask MOSES to come into hers."

That's my sweet child - not wanting Jesus to get spread too thin! :)

Have a wonderful day

Okay, first of all, it was bringing tears to my eyes reading about how the children were "asking Jesus into their hearts"...just thinking of how one day Andrew will make this decision. Then I read on and was CRACKING UP and the whole Moses comment!! That is SUCH a cute story!!! I love the things kids say!!! Ms. Sonja Walker says she's going to write a book one day!!

How fun to see old friends!!!

Mrs. Kathy,

It's Sally Foreman Harrison from the old Temple days when I was one of Sandra George's interns. I do hope you remember me, as you are one of the folks I could never forget!

I am in Vicksburg, MS, and am the mom of boy/girl twins born 3 1/2 months prematurely. Hayden & Hank weighed less than 2 pounds each at birth, or as my husband likes to say, "I'd caught fish bigger than them!" They had a very rough start, but at nearly 2 1/2 years old, they are truckin' right along.

We also have a blog, so you can check out pictures of my little monkeys http://harrisoncrew.blogspot.com You can also see pictures of how small they were by clicking the NICU photos link.

I'm so glad that I stumbled across your site and will be a faithful reader in the future. I emailed Susan Loudon Burk & Janie Davidson Lowery and told them that I found you along with the mother-lode of old Tech people's blogs by checking out the links on your site. I can't wait to contact some of these folks I haven't seen since 1999!

I'm so happy to see that you and your family are doing well, and you are still doing what you do best!

Take care ~ Sally

Dear Kathy,

Sally passed your blog onto us, and Susan and I have been reading it. It's been a while, but I'm one of the goofuses who used to be in your sunday school class at Temple in the early 90's.

I married Susan Loudon in 2000 (can you believe she married me?!), and we live in Dallas now. We just had our first baby two weeks ago, and her name is Emily.

I'm so glad to see your blog. Well done, and thanks for all the links to long-lost-friends.

Anywho, I just wanted to drop you a note.

I hope this note finds you doing well.

Sincerely,
Denny Burk

Hey Ms. Kathy,
It's Catherine Russell Asher and Jeremy and I have cracked up over this story. I can't believe your girls are so big! Jer is a music minister here in Arlington Texas and we are loving where we are serving. We love you and are so thankful for your college influence in our lives. I can't wait to look at your Speak it site!
God bless you,
Catherine
P.S. Emily Burk is a doll! She does need to make a Ruston appearance soon!
